#10 CR Fashion Book

The former editor-in-chief of french Vogue Carine Roitfeld has finally made the name of her new magazine official: CR Fashion Book! The magazine is said to be biannual and the first issue comes out in september and the theme is "Obsession". The magazine will be sold for $9.95 and will almost be like a coffee table book. The plan is to publish some of articles in the language of the authors writing them, with translations in the back. I am super excited for it, click the links to read more about it!

#9 Digital Scanning for Jeans

On WWD's website I read an article about a company called Bodymetrics who has developed a scanning machine that scans your body and helps you determine what kind of "shape" you are and what jeans that fits you particular body type. I don't think anyone really likes to buy jeans, it's always a big project and there are so many different styles. I think this sounds really cool - and the testing seems so have gone relatively well!

Bloomingdales had done a trial with a Bodymetric scanner and after determining the customers shape the machine had 29 different styles in its system, from for example Seven For All Mankind, J Brand and Citizen of Humanity. It used its database of styles to recommend which would suit the customer.

I would love to try it out, but there's probably a long way to go until people get used to this kind of technology. Check the article out!

#8 Lookbooks

ACNE is a Swedish brand founded in 1996. The creative director of the brand is Jonny Johansson. It is one of my favorite brands, and even though they've been focusing a lot more on being a high fashion brand lately, my favorites are their classic basic t-shirts and jeans.

A lookbook is created to show of styles, designs and collections. There is a website called lookbook.nu, inspired by street style photography, where people can upload themselves in their outfits from day to day. Here is ACNEs Pre AW12 collection and their lookbook. Not my favorite, but there's some great pieces.

Pretty silver skirt!

I love this silver jacket,

and this white one too, which is a little more wearable.

#7 Trunk Shows

A trunk show gives vendors and designers an opportunity to show their merchandise and new lines to department stores, retailers or special customers before it is presented in the stores. A recent development is online trunk shows, especially amongst high fashion brands. What's interesting and fun about online trunk shows is that you can add behind the scenes footage and you get a more personal view of the items shown.

About a week ago the designers of Rag and Bone, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, showed their SS12 men's and women's collection at Nordstrom in Chicago. Their inspiration for the collection was 70's surfing, gypsies and a building in Munich, Germany designed by designer bureau Herzog and de Meuron. I personally love Rag and Bone and often go in to their stores just to get inspired.

The building in Munich, where clearly they have found their color inspiration, as the collection is full of turqoise, orange and yellow.

#6 Louis Vuitton AW12 Paris Fashion Show

There has probably been a million posts and comments about this since fashion week, but still..
I don't know if you guys have seen the Louis Vuitton show from fashion week in Paris a few weeks ago. If you haven't, take a look, it is incredible! It's a bit long, but it's worth your time. There is actually a train inside the Louvre. The models come off the train, each with their personal porter to carry their bags from the new collection. Well done, Marc Jacobs.

Beautiful thick but feminine coats, checked skirts as well as cool prints and glistening details. Some of my favorite pieces from the show:

I really like the tailored look on women, and here with the pink it adds an feminine touch.

Really like the gold!

This green coat is really amazing with intersting texture.

I love paisley, and the color combination is great.

The plaid skirts are super cool.

#5 Marni for H&M

Last week the Marni collection for H&M was released! I personally didn't know a lot about Marni before, but when seeing this collection I got interested and I think some pieces, aspecially accessories, were great. I actually went to the store later during the day of the release, but of course most of it was sold out. Not a single accessory was left!

 Here are my favorite pieces:

I really liked these shorts and this blouse. The matchy-matchy look is really cute, and the sophisticated "PJ's look".

Such a beautiful dress, I love the prints.

Love the contrast of the fabrics.

Super simple and classic

Collars are really trendy right now, both this style and also the Peter Pan style. I would have loved to have one of these to spruse up any boring shirt or tee.

Super cute flower necklace, really romantic.

This necklace has more edge to it, and it comes in different colors. I really like this yellow toned one, it's supercool and fun. I like the little details with the stones.

The commercial for the collection was directed by Sofia Coppola and is really amazing. Click the link to watch it!

#4 Fashion Language

Cathy Horyn, one of NY Times fashion reporters writes in this blog post, from March 5th, about Clare Waight Keller's second collection for Chloé. She describes it very well, and you get a great idea of what the collection looked like, even though the images only shows two looks. You also clearly understand what she liked and disliked.

"Clare Waight Keller may have found her groove at Chloé. After a tepid start last season, the designer came back with a very strong collection full of distinctive color — pale pink, lemon, dusty blue, deep red, camel — and standout, pretty sportswear. Although she had a few clunker coats (too heavy) and weird leather culottes with crinkled hems, she created a look with cute jogging pants, airy sweaters with an underlayer of white lace showing, coats based on quilted linings, and some lovely lace tops and dresses. I especially liked that Ms. Keller was comfortable with the notion of a sweater and a skirt, doing them in the Chloé spirit."
